Drummers Still on Skids - John Donalson Pitches at League Park Today
ALL NATIONS WIN FIRST GAME, 9 TO 1 Play South Parks at League Park Again This Afternoon DONALDSON TO PITCH Famous Negro Twirler Will Positively Be Seen in Action Today
The All Nations with the famous John Donaldson on the coaching lines and Turino
pitching, clearly displayed their superb baseball playing yesterday afternoon at League Park
defeating the South Parks, 9 to 1. The game was much more interesting than that score would indicate for up to the sixth inning it was anybody's game. In the fourth inning the South Parks made their only score when after Meier had struck out. Watson singled to short, Tracy struck out, and Kinnen tripled, scoring Watson. Kinnen died at third when Ellis struck out, making three such outs for Turino in a single inning. A fair sized crowd saw the game and the fielding of All Nations, aside from the pitching of Turino, was the feature. The coaching of Donaldson was alone worth traveling (sp) to the park to hear, the dark-hued boy being as natural a comedian as Germany Schaefer or Nick Altrock. In the eighth the Nations scored two more. Rogan walked, stole second, went to third on a bad throw to second by Wogan, and scored on Blukoi's double. Blukoi stole third and scored on Jesson's single. Another brace came in the ninth on a single by Steno, and error by Meier, and a double by Coleman. This finished the scoring for the day. The All Nations have their own original club and travel in their own private car. The work of the team is up to its usual standard, the club being considered one of the best organizations playing the national game. Nationalities are represented as follows: Steno, Hawaiian; Ryan, Irish; Coleman, Hawaiian; Torrientas, Cuban; Rogan, Mexican; Blukio (sp), Cuban; Jesson, Italian; Crow, Indian; Turino, Hawaiian; Mendez, Cuban; Donaldson, negro. This infamous club played 160 games last year and lost only twelve of that number. The Parks put up a good game against superior odds yesterday and will be greatly strengthened for today's game.
